2 - Bracket
^ Only for engines with long-life service
^ For wiring harness for Oil level thermal sensor -G266-

3 - 25 Nm
^ Only for engines with long-life service

4 - Pressure relieve valve, 27 Nm

5 - Oil spray jet
^ For piston cooling

6 - Dipstick
^ Oil level must not be above max. mark!
^ Markings.

7 - Guide
^ Secured to intake manifold
^ Pull off to extract oil

8 - Guide tube

9 - Dowel sleeves

10 - O-ring
^ Replace

11 - 15 Nm

12 - Suction line
^ Clean strainer if soiled

13 - Baffle plate

14 - 15 Nm

16 - Oil pan
^ Clean sealing surface before installing
^ Insert with silicone sealant D176404A2

17 - Seal
^ Not installed in all engines
^ Replace if part of original equipment

18 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
^ For some engines: with permanently attached seal
^ if drain plug is installed with permanently attached seal, replace it
^ Install hand-tight, then tighten to prescribed torque

19 - 10 Nm
^ Only for engines with long-life service

20 - Oil level thermal sensor -G266-
^ Only for engines with long-life service

21 - O-ring
^ Only for engines with long-life service
^ Replace
^ Grease before installing

22 - 25 Nm
^ Only for engines with long-life service

23 - Sealing flange

24 - Chain tensioner with tensioning rail, 15 Nm
^ When installing, pretension spring and fit

25 - Chain
^ Before removing, mark direction of chain rotation (installation position) with a colored marker
^ Check for wear

26 - 20 Nm
^ Use counterhold T10051 to loosen and tighten

27 - Chain sprocket for oil pump
^ Note installation position

28 - Oil pump
^ With pressure relief valve of 12 bar
^ Before installing, check that both dowel sleeves are installed for centralizing oil pump/cylinder block
^ Replace if running surfaces and gears are scored

^ Pull off to extract oil

^ Clean sealing surface before installing

^ Clean sealing surface before installing
^ Insert with silicone sealant D176501A1

17 - Seal
^ Not installed in all engines
^ Replace if part of original equipment

18 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
^ For some engines: with permanently attached seal
^ If drain plug is installed with permanently attached seal, replace it
^ Thread in hand-tight, then tighten to prescribed torque

19 - 15 Nm

20 - Oil pump
^ With pressure relief valve of 12 bar
^ Before installing, check that both dowel sleeves are installed for centralizing oil pump/cylinder block
^ Replace if running surfaces and gears are scored

^ Clean strainer if soiled

^ Replace

^ On cylinder block
^ Replace if damaged

^ Install with locking fluid D 000 600 A2.

17 - Spreader rivet
^ With expansion pin

18 - Seal
^ Not installed in all engines
^ Replace if part of original equipment

19 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
^ For some engines: with permanently attached seal
^ If drain plug is installed with permanently attached seal, replace it
^ Thread in hand-tight, then tighten to prescribed torque

20 - Oil pan
^ Clean sealing surface before installing
^ Insert with silicone sealant D176404A2


21 - 20 Nm
^ Use counterhold T10051 when loosening and tightening

22 - Chain sprocket for oil pump
^ Note installation position

23 - Oil pump

^ Not installed in all engines
^ Replace if part of original equipment

14 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
^ For some engines: with permanently attached seal
^ If drain plug is installed with permanently attached seal, replace it Thread in hand-tight, then tighten to prescribed torque

A - Hex collar bolt M7 � 40
B - Hex collar bolt M7 � 55
C - Hex collar bolt M7 � 90
D - Plug with O-ring

1 - Plug, 40 Nm
^ Replace

2 - Seal

3 - Spring
^ For pressure relief valve, approx. 4 bar

4 - Piston
^ For pressure relief valve, approx. 4 bar

5 - Seal
^ Replace

6 - O-ring

7 - Sealing cap

8 - Securing clip

9 - Plug, 15 Nm

10 - Seal
^ If sealing ring is leaking, cut open and replace

11 - 1.4 bar Oil pressure switch -F1-, 25 Nm
^ Black

12 - Seal
^ If sealing ring is leaking, cut open and replace

13 - Oil filter bracket
^ With pressed on non-return valve

14 - 15 Nm plus 1/4 turn (90°)
^ Replace

15 - Seal
^ Replace
^ Fit into groove on oil cooler

16 - Oil cooler
^ Coat contact area to oil filter bracket, outside seal, with AMV18810002
^ Ensure clearance to adjacent components.

17 - 25 Nm

18 - Oil filter
^ Loosen with tensioning strap or oil filter wrench 3417
^ Tighten by hand
^ Note instructions on filter when installing
