Fuel Tank With Attachments And Fuel Filter, Removing And Installing (Vehicles With Engine Code AEG, AVH, AZG, BEV, BGD)

21. Supply line
- Black
- Check for secure fit
- To remove from fuel filter, press release buttons on connecting piece

- To fuel supply line at fuel distributor.
Vehicles with engine code BEV
- To fuel supply line at fuel distributor.
Vehicles with engine code BGD
- To fuel supply line at fuel distributor.
22. Ventilation line
- White
- Clipped in at top of fuel tank
- Check for secure fit
- To Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge regulator valve -N80-.
23. Seal
- Replace if damaged
- To install, place into opening of fuel tank when dry
- Only coat with fuel when installing Fuel Pump (FP) flange
24. Fuel Pump (FP) unit
- Note installation position of flange at fuel tank, see below Fig. 1.
- Clean strainer if dirty
25. Union nut, 75 Nm
26. Supply line
- Black
- Check for secure fit
- Clipped in sideways at fuel tank
- To remove from flange and fuel filter, press release buttons on connecting piece
27. Return line
- Blue or with blue marking
- Clipped in sideways at fuel tank
- Check for secure fit
- To remove from flange, press release buttons on connecting piece
Vehicles with engine code AEG, AVH, AZG
- From fuel return line at fuel distributor.
Vehicles with engine code BEV, BGD
- From fuel pressure regulator.
28. Gravity valve
- To remove, unclip valve upward from connection
- Check valve for throughput. Valve vertical: open, Valve tilted 45 degrees: closed
29. Pressure retention valve
- Checking, see below Fig. 3
30. Ground (GND) connection
- Check for secure fitting

Marking on sensor must align with marking on fuel tank (arrows).
Blue or blue marked return line -1- at connection marked -R-
Black supply line -2- at connection marked -V-
NOTE: After installing Fuel Pump (FP) flange, check whether supply, return and vent lines are still clipped in at fuel tank.

NOTE: Before installing bleeder valve, remove cap from fuel tank.

The pressure retaining valve is open in both flow directions (arrow -1-) from gravity-/overflow valve side.
It is only open in one flow direction (arrow -2-) from T-piece of EVAP canister/solenoid valve 1.

- Install screw-type clamps (arrow) as shown in illustration.
Make sure there is enough distance between clamp lock and fuel tank. Dimension "a" must be at least 5 mm.
