Engine Number

Engine number

The engine number ("engine code" and "serial number") is located on the flat surface of the cylinder block, at the right front cylinder bank.

The engine code is also engraved on the cylinder head, cylinder bank 1 (right) at front in area of the lifting eyelets.

Also, a sticker with "engine code" and "serial number" is placed on intake air scoop or upper part of toothed belt guard on right side.

The engine code is also included on the vehicle data plate.

The engine number consists of up to nine characters (alphanumeric). The first part (maximum 3 letters) represents the "engine code", the second part (six digit) is the "serial number". If more than 999,999 engines with the same engine code are produced, the first of the six characters is replaced with a letter.
