Cylinder head, assembly overview





1 - Rear toothed belt cover

2 - 22 Nm

3 - Lifting eye

4 - Cylinder head
^ After replacing replace entire amount of coolant
^ Check for distortion
^ Driving in sealing cap (core plug) into replacement cylinder head

5 - Oil scraper

6 - Cylinder head cover gasket
^ Replace if damaged or leaking
^ Note installation position
^ Before installing, coat cover/cylinder head contact surfaces with sealing compound D 454 300 A2

7 - Cap

8 - Seal
^ Replace if damaged

9 - Rubber ring

10 - Cover
^ For cylinder head cover
^ On older vehicles with bolted-on holder

11 - 10 Nm
^ Tighten from center outward

12 - Cylinder head cover

13 - Cylinder head bolt
^ Replace
^ Follow installation instructions and sequence when loosening and tightening

14 - Cylinder head gasket
^ Metal gasket
^ Replace
^ After replacing replace entire amount of coolant

15 - Toothed belt
^ Mark direction of rotation before removing
^ Check for wear
^ Do not kink

16 - Ribbed belt
^ Mark direction of rotation before removing
^ Check for wear
^ Do not kink

17 - 10 Nm

18 - Left toothed belt guard, upper

19 - Right toothed belt guard, upper

20 - Center toothed belt guard

21 - 55 Nm

22 - Securing plate

23 - Camshaft sprocket
^ Note position when installing toothed belt.

^ Straight edge
^ Feeler gauge

Max. permissible distortion: 0.05 mm
