Oil pan, oil filter and oil cooler, assembly overview
1 - Oil dipstick
^ Oil level must not be above max. mark!
^ Marks
2 - Guide tube
3 - O-ring
^ Replace
4 - Seal
^ Replace
^ Before installing, coat contact surfaces of sealing flange/cylinder block and oil pan/cylinder block with sealant AMV 188 001 02
5 - Screw plug, 25 Nm
^ If sealing ring is leaking cut open and replace.
6 - Oil filter element
^ Observe change intervals
^ Remove with tension strap
^ Fasten by hand
^ Observe installation instructions for oil filter
7 - 30 Nm
8 - Oil cooler
^ Ensure sufficient clearance to surrounding components
^ Coat contact surface to flange, outside of sealing ring, with sealant AMV 188 001 02
9 - Oil seal
^ Replace
^ Oil before assembling
^ Snaps into tabs of oil cooler
10 - 1.4 bar Oil Pressure Switch -F1-, 25 Nm
^ White color marking on plastic housing
^ If sealing ring is leaking cut open and replace.
11 - 10 Nm
12 - Oil pan, lower part
^ For some vehicles with Long Life Service as of 05.1999 - with Oil level thermal sensor -G266-
13 - 10 Nm
14 - Oil seal
^ Replace sealing ring, when installed as replacement part
15 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
^ Replace plug, if with permanent sealing ring
16 - 10 Nm
17 - Cap
^ With pressure relief valves of 5 bar and 11 bar opening pressure
18 - Seal
^ Replace
19 - Oil strainer
^ Clean strainer if soiled
20 - Oil pan, upper part
