Fuel Tank With Attachments And Fuel Filter, Removing And Installing (Vehicles With Engine Code AUG, AWM)

- Replace if damaged
3. Tank lid unit
- With rubber cap
4. Mounting screw
5. Connection hose
6. Ground (GND) connection
- Check for secure fitting
7. Gravity valve
- To remove, unclip valve upward from connection
- Checking valve for throughput Valve vertical: open. Valve tilted 45 degrees : closed
8. Change-over valve
- To remove, unclip valve sideways from connection
- Before installing, unscrew cap, item 1
9. Vent line
- Black
- Clipped in sideways at fuel tank
- Check for secure fitting
- Secure with spring type clamps
- To EVAP canister
10. Pressure retention valve
- For fuel tank ventilation
- To remove, unclip valve upward from connection
11. Vent line
- With quick-release coupling
12. Supply line
- Black
- Clipped in sideways at fuel tank
- Check for secure fitting
- Secure with spring type clamps
- Between flange and fuel filter
13. Return line
- Blue or with blue marking
- Clipped in sideways at fuel tank
- Check for secure fitting
- Secure with spring type clamps
- From fuel return line at fuel distributor
14. Connector
- Black, 4-pin
- For Sender for fuel gauge -G- and Fuel Pump (FP) -G6-
15. Union nut, 60 Nm
16. Sender for fuel gauge -G-
- Clipped in at baffle housing in fuel tank
17. Flange
- Note installation position at fuel tank
18. Supply line
- Check for secure fitting
- Between flange and Fuel Pump (FP)
19. Fuel pump
- Removing and installing
- Check fuel pump
- Clean strainer if dirty
20. Seal
- To install, place into opening of fuel tank when dry
- Replace if damaged
- Only coat with fuel when installing flange
21. 25 Nm

- For tension straps
- Note installed position
23. Tension strap
- Note varying lengths
- Installation position: Locating point (hole) faces direction of travel

- Check for secure fitting

- From drip reservoir

- Installation position: Arrow points in direction of flow

- Check for secure fitting
- secure with spring type clamps
- to fuel supply line at fuel distributor

- From EVAP canister to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve -N80-
- Clipped onto fuel tank
32. Return line
- Check for secure fitting
- Between flange and baffle housing in fuel tank
33. Drip reservoir
- Clipped in at filler tube
34. 25 Nm
35. O-ring.
- Replace if damaged

Marking on flange -1- must align with marking on fuel tank -2-
NOTE: After installing fuel pump flange, check whether supply, return and vent lines are still clipped in at fuel tank.

NOTE: Before installing change-over valve, unscrew cover from fuel tank.

The pressure retaining valve is opened in both flow directions (arrow -1-) on the gravity valve side.
It is only opened in one flow direction (arrow -2-) on the side of the change-over valve.
