Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Module Coding

New Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Control Modules -J502- (Part No: 3D0907273D) are being distributed through service parts and require new coding.





44 06 07 Aug. 14, 2006 2010622 Supersedes T. B. Group 44 number 04-07 dated December 20, 2004 due to updated information.

Technical Background
- New TPMS Control Modules -J502- will have a software level of 0025 and can replace all previously released control modules provided the previous control module is found to be faulty, see note below.
- Control Modules with previous software level 0018 and 0021 must be coded "10204 for V8" and "10224 for W12".

NOTE: No functioning control module should be replaced unless first diagnosed and found to be faulty. The replacement of a control module as an upgrade is not permissible.

Service





For proper operation of the TPMS, code the new control modules -J502-as outlined:
- Connect VAS 5051/5052 Diagnostic tool.
- Switch ignition ON.
- From Start-up screen, select "Vehicle Self-Diagnosis".
- Select vehicle system "65-Tyre pressure monitoring".





- Select diagnosis function "007- Coding (Service 1A)".





Input one of the following numbers on keypad:
- Vehicle equipped with V8 engine-"210204".
- Vehicle equipped with W12 engine-"210224".
- Select "Q" button to confirm.
- TPMS will now be coded.





- Make sure coding is successfully completed -arrow-.
