1 Cap

• Check using cooling system tester (VAG 1274) and adapter (VAG 1274/9).

• Test pressure 1.4 to 1.6 bar

2 Expansion tank

• Perform leak test of cooling system with cooling system tester (VAG 1274) and adapter (VAG 1274/8).

• Depending on optional equipment, connection may be sealed with a blanking plug.

3 Coolant line

• To thermostat housing

4 Coolant line

Vehicles with engine code BKW:

• To auxiliary water heater.

Vehicles with engine code BWF:

• To cooler for exhaust gas recirculation.

5 Coolant hose

• To auxiliary water heater.

6 Coolant hose

• From heat exchanger.

7 Upper coolant hose

• Secured to radiator with a retaining clip.

• Ensure seated tightly.

8 Lower coolant hose

• Secured to radiator with a retaining clip.

• Ensure seated tightly.
