Access Start Authorization System - Sensors Antennas, Servicing

Access start authorization system - sensors antennas, component overview

NOTE: Use of system components depends on market version and optional equipment.







1. Left rear outside door handle
Integrated with door handle:

- Drivers Access/Start Authorization Antenna R134
- Left Rear Outside Door Handle Touch Sensor G417
- Left Rear Outside Door Handle Central Locking Button E371

NOTE:
- Antenna R134 consists of two separate parts. One part is integrated with drivers outside door handle and the other in left rear outside door handle. Antennas can be replaced separately.
- In the event of touch sensor or locking button malfunctions, replace entire door handle assembly. .
- It is not necessary to adapt or to code access and start authorization control module after replacement.

- Removing and installing

2. Drivers outside door handle
Integrated with door handle:
- Drivers Access/Start Authorization Antenna R134
- Drivers Outside Door Handle Touch Sensor G415
- Drivers Outside Door Handle Central Locking Button E369

NOTE:
- Antenna R134 consists of two separate parts. One part is integrated with drivers outside door handle and the other in left rear outside door handle. Antennas can be replaced separately.
- In the event of touch sensor or locking button malfunctions, replace entire door handle assembly. .
- It is not necessary to adapt or to code access and start authorization control module after replacement.
- Removing and installing

3. Interior Access/Start Authorization Antenna 2 R139
- Component location: in center console, front
- Removing and installing
- Checking

4. Interior Access/Start Authorization Antenna 1 R138
- Component location: In front of shift lever
- Removing and installing
- Checking

5. Front passengers outside door handle
Integrated with door handle:
- Front Passengers Access/Start Authorization Antenna R135
- Front Passengers Outside Door Handle Touch Sensor G416
- Front Passengers Outside Door Handle Central Locking Button E370

NOTE:
- Antenna R135 consists of two separate parts. One part is integrated with front passengers outside door handle and the other in right rear outside door handle. Antennas can be replaced separately.
- In the event of touch sensor or locking button malfunctions, replace entire door handle assembly. .
- It is not necessary to adapt or to code access and start authorization control module after replacement.

- Removing and installing passenger-side outside door handle

6. Right rear outside door handle
Integrated with door handle:
- Front Passengers Access/Start Authorization Antenna R135
- Right Rear Outside Door handle Touch Sensor G418
- Right Rear Outside Door Handle Central Locking Button E372

- Antenna R135 consists of two separate parts. One part is integrated with front passengers outside door handle and the other in right rear outside door handle. Antennas can be replaced separately.

7. Access/Start Authorization Antenna (in rear bumper) R136

NOTE: Antenna R136 consists of two separate parts. One par tis located on the left side of the rear bumper and the other on the right side.

8. Luggage Compartment Access/Start Authorization Antenna R137

NOTE: Antenna R137 location is dependent on market version and optional equipment installed. Antenna may be installed in three different locations in luggage compartment.

Drivers outside door handle, removing and installing

Integrated with door handle:
- Drivers Access/Start Authorization Antenna R134
- Drivers Outside Door Handle Touch Sensor G415
- Drivers Outside Door Handle Central Locking Button E369

NOTE:
- Antenna R134 consists of two separate parts. One part is integrated with drivers outside door handle and the other in left rear outside door handle. Antennas can be replaced separately.
- In the event of touch sensor or locking button malfunctions, replace entire door handle assembly. .
- It is not necessary to adapt or to code access and start authorization control module after replacement.

Removing:
- Remove left front outside door handle.

Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal.

Front passengers outside door handle, removing and installing

Integrated with door handle:
- Front Passengers Access/Start Authorization Antenna R135
- Front Passengers Outside Door Handle Touch Sensor G416
- Front Passengers Outside Door Handle Central Locking Button E370

NOTE:
- Antenna R135 consists of two separate parts. One part is integrated with front passengers outside door handle and the other in right rear outside door handle. Antennas can be replaced separately.

Removing:
- Remove right front outside door handle.

Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal.

Left rear outside door handle, removing and installing

Integrated with door handle:
- Drivers Access/Start Authorization Antenna R134
- Left Rear Outside Door Handle Touch Sensor G417
- Left Rear Outside Door Handle Central Locking Button E371

NOTE:
- Antenna R134 consists of two separate parts. One part is integrated with drivers outside door handle and the other in left rear outside door handle. Antennas can be replaced separately.
- In the event of touch sensor or locking button malfunctions, replace entire door handle assembly. .
- It is not necessary to adapt or to code access and start authorization control module after replacement.

Removing:
- Remove left rear outside door handle.

Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal.
Right rear outside door handle, removing and installing

Integrated with door handle:
- Front Passengers Access/Start Authorization Antenna R135
- Right Rear Outside Door handle Touch Sensor G418
- Right Rear Outside Door Handle Central Locking Button E372

NOTE:
- Antenna R135 consists of two separate parts. One part is integrated with front passengers outside door handle and the other in right rear outside door handle. Antennas can be replaced separately.
- In the event of touch sensor or locking button malfunctions, replace entire door handle assembly. .
- It is not necessary to adapt or to code access and start authorization control module after replacement.

Removing:
- Remove right rear outside door handle.

Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal.

Access/Start Authorization Antenna (in rear bumper) R136, removing and installing

NOTE:
- Antenna R136 consists of two separate parts. One parts located on the left side of the rear bumper and the other on the right side.
- It is not necessary to adapt or to code access and start authorization control module after replacement.

Removing:

CAUTION:
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

- Remove rear bumper cover.







- Disconnect antenna connections - arrows
- Remove antennas -1- and -2- from foam reinforcement (note possibility of alternate version illustrated below).







NOTE: Alternate version: Release clips -2- and remove antenna -1 -.

Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal.

Luggage Compartment Access/Start Authorization Antenna R137, removing and installing

NOTE: Antenna R137 location is dependent on market version and optional equipment installed. Antenna may be installed in three different locations - arrows - in luggage compartment.







- It is not necessary to adapt or to code access/start authorization control module after antenna replacement.

Removing:

CAUTION:
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

- Remove luggage compartment loading floor carpet.







- Disconnect antenna connection - 2 -.
- Removed glued-on antenna -1- from luggage compartment floor.

Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal.

Interior Access/Start Authorization Antenna 1 R138, removing and installing







Interior Access/Start Authorization Antenna 1 R138. arrow - is located in center console, in front of shift lever.

NOTE: It is not necessary to adapt or to code access/start authorization control module after antenna replacement.

Removing:

CAUTION:
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

- Remove center console.







- Disconnect electrical connection -3- for antenna - 2 -.
- Remove screw - 5 -.
- Release locating tab -1- from retainer - 4 - and remove antenna - 2 -.

Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal.

Interior Access/Start Authorization Antenna 2 R139, removing and installing







Interior Access/Start Authorization Antenna 2 R139. arrow - is located in front portion of center console.

NOTE: It is not necessary to adapt or to code access/start authorization control module after antenna replacement.

Removing:

CAUTION:
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

- Where applicable, remove rear Climatronic controls.
- Remove rear most part of center console or front portion of center console.







- Disconnect electrical connection -1- for antenna - 3 -.
- Remove screw - 2 -.
- Release locating tab - 4 - from retainer - 5. and remove antenna - 3

Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal.
