VAS 5051 / 5052, Connecting And Selecting Functions

CAUTION: Always read, understand and observe Scan Tool (ST) and Test Equipment safety precautions.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051A
- Optional: VAS 5052 Vehicle Diagnostic and Service System
- Diagnostic cable VAS 5051/6A (5 m)







- Diagnostic cable VAS 5051/5A (3 m)

NOTE: Only the diagnostic cables listed above are to be used since only these are equipped with CAN-wires and permit a CAN diagnostic or CAN communication.

Connecting:

CAUTION:
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Switch off ignition.
- Engage hand brake.
- Automatic transmission lever position "P" or "N"







- Open Data Link Connector (DLC) cover -1- under left instrument cluster - arrow -.
- With ignition off, connect VAS 5051 / 5052 using Diagnostic Cable VAS 5051/6A or Diagnostic Cable VAS 5051/5A to Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Switch on ignition.
- Choose operating mode as instructed by procedure.
- Follow remaining procedure as instructed.
- Follow tester prompts.
