Rear Seat, Cover Damaged by Seat Belt Lock

Rear seat cover is damaged by seat belt lock when seat is folded.

By improperly folding the rear seat backrest, the belt buckle cover breaks and damages the backrest cover in the process -below-.

Production Solution





Additional instruction labels -below- attached to rear backrest on vehicles produced:

^ From VIN 7L_7D052545 (comfort seats),

^ From VIN 7L_7D060929 (basic seats).





Increased cut-out for belt locks and improved belt lock spring mechanism -below-.

Service

Replace damaged backrest covers, belt locks and attach informational stickers

^ Replace damaged seat covers and belt locks. See Repair Manual.

^ Clean bonding surfaces -below- in rear door jamb.

^ Attach sticker Part No: 7L6 010 479 D to left and right side rear door jamb -below-.

Warranty





A parts replacement under warranty is only permitted until the introduction of the sticker. Inform the customer that the damage does not occur with correct operation of the seat backrest.
