Toothed Belt, Checking Condition
- Remove upper toothed belt cover.
- Check condition of toothed belt for:
• - A - Cranks, cross-sectional breaks, tears (on side of cover)
• - B - Lateral scouring
• - C - Fraying of cord strands
• - D - Tears (in tooth base)
• Separation (cover layer, belt cords)
• Surface cracks (plastic shroud)
• Oil or grease contamination
• It is essential to replace toothed belt if malfunctions are found. By replacing, failures and/or disturbances can be avoided. Replacing the belt is a repair procedure.
