Adjusting Door
Adjusting Door
The nut for eccentric pin - 9 - must not be loosened under any circumstances. The nut cannot be secured again using workshop equipment.
• The door is properly adjusted when there is an overall even gap dimension when closed and contours align.
• If outer door panel is removed, window frame of door inner part must be adjusted in relation to roof frame and B-pillar, and to rear door.
Pay attention to front door gap dimensions.
For a correct adjustment of the gap dimensions, bolts - 5 -, - 7 -, - 11 - and - 12 - on A-pillar must be loosened. For bolt - 5 -, lower A-pillar trim must be removed.
Other measures, such as aligning the door upward, are not effective. Excess pressure thereafter will again cause the door to sag.
For a correct adjustment of the alignment, bolts - 4 -, - 6 - and - 13 - as well as guide bolts - 2 - and - 8 - must be loosened.
For this, the door adjusting wrench (3320) with the bit insert (3320/3) must be used.
Adjusting latch bracket
• When closing, front door must lock completely without further applied force and must have no play.
• By adjusting the latch bracket, front door must not be pushed upward or downward.
With the latch bracket, one can adjust If the adjustment of the front door to the rear door does not align.
- Loosen latch bracket - 1 - by loosening bolts - 2 - at B-pillar.
- Adjust front door with latch bracket - 1 - so that front door aligns with rear door when closed (wind noise).
Maximum rotation tolerance - A - on striker pin: ± 3°
- Tighten the bolts - 2 -.
Tightening specification: 20 Nm
Only use this adjustment to align the door inward our outward, not vertically. The door must not move up or down when opening or closing. If it does, the striker pin vertical adjustment is incorrect.
