Installation Unit


Only remove and install drive motor for sunroof glass panel when roof is closed (zero position).

Requirements for removing and installing the drive motor are: Engine and ignition off, remove ignition key and open door.

Removing


Perform the following work steps especially carefully in order to prevent damage to molded headliner.

- Lower molded headliner (molded headliner must not be removed from vehicle, front seats and front passenger side door are not removed)..

- Disconnect water drain hoses from installation unit - 1 - - arrows -.

- Disconnect harness connector - 3 - from drive motor of glass panel for sunroof - 4 -.

- Remove bolts - 2 - and remove installation unit - 1 - from vehicle with a second mechanic.





Installing


Perform the following work steps especially carefully in order to prevent damage to molded headliner.

- With a second technician, insert installation unit - 1 - into roof cutout.

- During installation, align installation unit - 1 - via two cylindrical pins (reversed drill) 12 mm at right front and 10 mm left rear in roof.

• Installation unit must not make contact with roof frame.

- Insert bolts - 2 -.

- Check wires and harness connectors for electrical consumers at roof for correct routing, reproduce if necessary.

- Firmly bolt installation unit - 1 - of drive motor for sunroof - 4 - beginning at left and right toward rear. Tightening specification: 8 Nm

- Install water drain hoses - arrows -.

- Connect harness connector - 3 - for drive motor of glass panel for sunroof - 4 -.

- Install molded headliner.
