Intake Manifold Flap Assembly Overview
Intake manifold change-over is switched depending on engine speed and Throttle Position (TP).

• Replace
4 Intake manifold, upper
• Disassembling and assembling.
5 O-ring

6 EGR vacuum regulator solenoid valve (N18)

9 Intake manifold flap
• With motor for intake flap (V157)
10 10 Nm
11 Gasket
• Replace

• Replace
13 Selector shaft
• The selector shaft must not be loaded axially; it could be damaged!
14 Intake manifold, lower
• With shift rod
• Disassembling and assembling.

• When pressing the vacuum reservoir actuator on the conical pin on the shift rod, always support the shift of with a suitable wooden shim on the lower part of the intake manifold.

Intake Manifold Change-Over, Disassembling and Assembling
• To prevent the variable intake manifold from warping, tighten it only in the sequence described.
- Remove the intake manifold change-over.
- Loosen the connecting bolts.
- Separate the upper part and the lower part of the intake manifold; if necessary, tap is lightly with a rubber hammer to loosen the two parts from each other.
- Clean the sealing surface.
- Replace gaskets.
- Assemble the upper and lower parts of the intake manifold and hand-tighten all the connecting bolts.
- Tighten all the connecting bolts to 10 Nm in the sequence shown.
- Install the intake manifold change-over.
