Fastener Tightening Specifications

Cylinder Head Bolts
Replace cylinder head bolts





First pass hand-tight
Second pass 40 Nm
Third pass 90° (1/4 turn) additional turn
Final pass 90° (1/4 turn) additional turn

Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolts





First pass: Gently tighten bolts from inside working toward outside in several stages
Second pass: 8 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn)

Crankshaft Main Bearing Cap Bolts 65 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn)
Replace

Connecting rod bolts 30 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn)
Replace

Crankshaft toothed belt sprocket bolt 90 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn)
Replace

Ribbed belt pulley bolts 10 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn)
Replace

Flywheel bolts 60 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn)
Replace

Drive Plate Bolts
Install new bolts

First pass 30 Nm
Final pass 60 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn, additional rotation may occur in several stages)

Oil Pump Bolts
Please refer to Oil Pump With Differential Shaft Gear, Removing and Installing for tightening specifications and procedure. Service and Repair

Oil Pump Sprocket Bolt 20 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn)
Replace

Coolant pump to cylinder block bolts 15 Nm
Sealing plug in housing points downward
