• Control module sends and receives data via CAN-bus
• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051)
2 Engine control module (ECM)
• Control module sends and receives data via CAN-bus
3 Multi-Function Transmission Range Switch (F125)
• Installed location => [ ]
• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051)
• Removing, installing and adjusting => [ Removal and Installation ] Table of Contents or => [ Selector Mechanism, Checking ] Testing and Inspection
4 Valve Body
• Installed location => [ Valve Body ]
• Components can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using the (VAS 5051)
5 Sensor wiring harness
• With Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor (G93)
• Installed location => [ Sensor wiring harness ]
• Removing and installing => [ Removing ] Service and Repair
6 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor (G93)
• Installed location => [ Sensor wiring harness ]
• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051)
7 Solenoid valve wiring harness
• Installed location => [ Solenoid valve wiring harness ]
• Removing and installing => [ Removing ] Service and Repair
8 Automatic Transmission Hydraulic Pressure Sensor 1 (G193)
• Not installed in all transmissions
• Installed location => [ and ]
9 Automatic Transmission Hydraulic Pressure Sensor 2 (G194)
• Not installed in all transmissions

10 Transmission Input Speed (RPM) Sensor (G182)

11 Transmission Output Speed (RPM) Sensor (G195)

12 Shift lock solenoid (N110)
• Location: Shift lock solenoid is located in selector mechanism.
• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051)
13 tiptronic Switch (F189)
• Installed location => [ ]
• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051)
14 Power Supply Relay (terminal 50) (J682)
• In E-box in engine compartment
15 Data Link Connector (DLC)
• Installed location => [ Data Link Connector (DLC) ]
16 Selector Lever Position Display (Y6)
Transmission Control Module (TCM) (J217) - arrow -
Location: Control module is located in left front wheel housing.
- For removal or installation, wheel housing liner must be removed.
Multi-Function Transmission Range Switch (F125)
Location: The multi-function switch is located on upper side of transmission.
Valve Body
Location: Valve body is bolted to underside of transmission housing and is covered by transmission oil pan.
Solenoid valves (N88) and (N89) as well as pressure control valves (N90), (N91), (N92), (N93), (N282) and (N283) are secured to valve body.
Sensor wiring harness
• With integrated Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor (G93) - arrow -
Location: Wiring harness is secured to valve body in transmission.
Solenoid valve wiring harness
Location: Wiring harness is secured to valve body in transmission.
Automatic Transmission Hydraulic Pressure Sensor 1 (G193) and Automatic Transmission Hydraulic Pressure Sensor 2 (G194)
This sensor is not installed in all transmissions.
Location:
The automatic transmission hydraulic pressure sensor 1 (G193) - 1 - and the automatic transmission hydraulic pressure sensor 2 (G194) are installed in the valve body.
Transmission Input Speed (RPM) Sensor (G182) and Transmission Output Speed (RPM) Sensor (G195)
Location: Sensors are installed above valve body in transmission housing.

Tiptronic Switch (F189)
Location: The tiptronic switch is integrated in shift mechanism.
For vehicles with multi-function steering wheel, also buttons on steering wheel and corresponding wire connections must be checked.
Data Link Connector (DLC)
Location: Data Link Connector (DLC) - arrow - is located on left side under driver-side storage compartment.
Selector Lever Position Display (Y6)
Location: in instrument cluster
