Timing Belt: Description and Operation



Toothed Drive Belt Assembly Overview




1 - Bolt, 10 Nm

2 - Bearing Sleeve

3 - Bolt, 20 Nm + 1 /4 turn (90°)
- Always replace.

4 - Washer
- For the tensioner

5 - Bolt, 40 Nm

6 - Tensioner Roller

7 - Tensioner Lever

8 - Bolt, 22 Nm

9 - Bolt, 55 Nm
- Always replace.
- Grease the threads and head seating surface.

10 - Securing Plate
- Always replace.
- Note installed position: Labeled side faces toward the rear.

11 - Right Camshaft Gear
- Remove from the camshaft using the puller (T40001 ) and claw (T40001/2).

12 - Bolt, 10 Nm
- Install using locking fluid (D 000 600 A2).

13 - Right Rear Toothed Belt Guard

14 - Idler Roller

15 - Bolt, 6 Nm

16 - Bolt, 15 Nm

17 - Coolant Pump

18 - Gasket
- Always replace.

19 - Left Rear Toothed Belt Guard

20 - 10 Nm
- Install using locking fluid (D 000 600 A2).

21 - Nut, 10 Nm

22 - Left Camshaft Gear
- Remove from the camshaft using the puller (T40001 ) and claw (T40001/2).

23 - Securing Plate
- Always replace.
- Note installed position: Labeled side faces toward the rear.

24 - Bolt. 55 Nm
- Always replace.
- Grease the threads and head seating surface.

25 - Toothed Belt
- Mark the direction of rotation before removing.
- Check for wear.
- Do not kink.

26 - Eccentric Roller

27 - Bolt, 45 Nm

28 - Crankshaft Toothed Belt Sprocket
- Only possible to install in one position.

29 - Bolt, 200 Nm + 1 /2 turn (180°)
- Always replace.
- Do not add lubricant.
- Additional rotation can occur in several stages.

30 - Washer
- For the tension lever - 7 -.

31 - Tensioner Element
