Speakers

Front Bass Speakers
• Removal and installation of left and right speakers is identical.
• Before starting repair work, perform the following:
Removal
- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
- Remove door trim..
- Release locking mechanism of harness connector - arrows - and disconnect it.
- Using a suitable drill, drill out rivets - arrows - and remove speaker.
• To prevent corrosion, ensure that all metal particles from drilling are removed from inside the door.
• If paint on door frame is damaged during drilling, touch-up immediately.
Installation
- When installing, secure new speaker with special pop rivets (note replacement part number!)
Further installation is in the reverse sequence of removal.
Rear Bass Speaker, 4-Door
• Removal and installation of left and right speakers is identical.
Removing
- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
- Remove door trim..
- Release locking mechanism of harness connector - arrows - and disconnect it.
- Using a suitable drill, drill out rivets - arrows - and remove speaker.
• To prevent corrosion, ensure that all metal particles from drilling are removed from inside the door.
• If paint on door frame is damaged during drilling, touch-up immediately.
Installing
- When installing, secure new speaker with special pop rivets (note replacement part number!).

Rear Bass Speaker, 2-Door
• Removal and installation of left and right speakers is identical.
Removing
- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
• When removing side trim, treble speaker may break away from trim due to a short wire connector from wire mount to speaker connector - arrows -. Therefore, carefully remove side trim.
- Disconnect connector at treble speaker and then remove side trim.
- Release locking mechanism of harness connector - arrows - and disconnect it.
- Using a suitable drill, drill out rivets - arrows - and remove speaker.
• To prevent corrosion, ensure that all metal particles from drilling are removed from inside the side panel.
• If paint on door frame is damaged during drilling, touch-up immediately.
Installing
- When installing, secure new speaker with special pop rivets (note replacement part number!).
Further installation is in the reverse sequence of removal.
Front Mid-Range Speakers
• Midrange speakers are secured to door trim from behind.
• Removal and installation of left and right speakers is identical.
Removing
- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
- Remove door trim..
- Release locking mechanism of harness connector - arrows - and disconnect it.
- Remove screws from speaker and remove it.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
Front Treble Speaker
• Treble speaker is installed in mirror triangle at each front door.
• Speaker can only be replaced in conjunction with trim of mirror triangle.
• Removal and installation of left and right speakers is identical.
Removing
- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
- Remove door trim..
- Disconnect harness connector to speaker - arrows -.
- Remove screw - arrow -.
• If plastic clip - arrow - remains on trim, remove it and insert it in door at the installation location. Otherwise trim of mirror triangle can no longer be installed correctly.
- Unclip trim together with speaker.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
Rear Treble Speaker, 4-Door
• Treble speakers are secured to door trim from behind.
• After removing treble speaker, speaker trim must always be replaced.
• Removal and installation of left and right side speakers is identical.
Removing
- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
- Remove door trim..
- Release locking mechanism of harness connector - arrows - and disconnect it.
- Cut off heat-sealed plastic clips on speaker panel - arrows -.
- Remove trim and speaker from door trim.
Installing
- Insert speaker trim in door trim.
- Place speaker on speaker trim plastic clips.
- Heat-seal the plastic clips using a soldering iron - arrows -.
Further installation is in the reverse sequence of removal.
Rear Treble Speaker, 2-Door
• Removal and installation of left and right speakers is identical.
• After removing treble speaker, speaker trim must always be replaced.
• Treble speakers are secured to side trim from behind.
Removing
- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers, and remove ignition key.
- Remove door trim..
