Engine, Securing to Assembly Stand






Engine, Securing on Assembly Stand

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Lifting tackle (3033)

Shop crane (VAS 6100)

Engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095)

Engine mount (T03001)

Transport strap (T03002)

For performing work, secure engine using Lateral Engine Bracket (T03001) to Engine and Transmission Holder (VAS 6095).

- Remove the transmission

- Pull off clamp - 1 - for wiring harness, remove bolts - 3 - and remove cover plate - 2 -.





- Disconnect harness connectors - 1 - and - 2 - and remove bracket - 3 - - arrow -.





- Install transport strap (T03002) as depicted.





Pin - 1 - engages in cylinder block. Tighten knurled bolt - 2 - hand-tight.

- Install holding fixture (T03001).





Tighten bolts - 1 - and - 3 - to 40 Nm, bolt - 2 - to 25 Nm.

Bolts are designed so that they cannot be lost.

When removing, holding fixture (T03001) must be held at tension in direction of withdrawal, otherwise the bolt - 1 - cannot be removed.

- Engage engine sling (3033) as depicted and lift out using workshop crane (VAS 6100) from Engine And Transmission Holder (V.A.G 1383 A).





- Secure engine on Engine and Transmission Holder ( VAS 6095).
