Side Airbags For Driver And Front Passenger, Removing And Installing

NOTE: Removal and installation is described for the left-hand side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the right-hand side is performed in the same manner.

Removing

CAUTION: Observe safety precautions for working on airbags.

- Remove front seat.
- Remove front right seat trim

Vehicles with manual seat adjustment
- Remove front left seat trim

Vehicles with electric seat adjustment
- Remove left power seat trim

All vehicles
- Remove front seat backrest.
- Remove cover and upholstery from front seat backrest.
- Separate wiring harness - 1 - from backrest frame.
- Remove bolt - 2 - (9 Nm).







- Remove side airbag - 3 - from mounting in backrest frame.







Installing
- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
- Switch on ignition.

CAUTION: Make sure that no persons are in the vehicle.

- Connect vehicle battery.
