Battery with Visual Indicator, Checking

Batteries that have a colorless or light yellow visual indicator do not have to be tested or charged. Jump starting must not be used!

There is a risk of explosion during testing, charging or jump starting.

These batteries must be replaced.


In order to prevent damage to the battery or vehicle, observe battery type descriptions and notes. Refer to => [ Battery With Charge Indicator ] Battery With Charge Indicator.

Perform Battery Checks In The Following Sequence:

- Visual inspection. Refer to => [ Battery, Inspecting ] Battery, Inspecting.

- Check the color in the visual indicator, 3 colors refer to => [ 3 Color Visual Indicator, Checking ] Color Visual Indicator, Checking or 2 colors refer to => [ 2 Color Visual Indicator, Checking ] 2 Color Visual Indicator, Checking.

- Battery testing, refer to VAS 6161=> [ Battery, Testing ] Battery Tester VAS 6161 or Midtronics => [ Battery, Testing ] Midtronics Battery Tester.

- Depending on the result of the battery test, perform a current draw test. Refer to => [ Current Draw Test ] Current Draw Test.
