Torque specifications

Torque Specifications:

Cylinder Head Bolts

Note: Longer bolts must be inserted in middle holes of cylinder head.

- Tighten cylinder head bolts in tightening sequence as follows from inside to outside.

First pass: Hand tighten new bolts
Second pass 30 Nm
Third pass 50 Nm
Fourth pass: Tighten all bolts (1/4 turn) (90°) further
Final pass: Tighten all bolts again 1/4 turn (90°) further

Camshaft Bearing Cap Nuts
Please refer to Camshafts, Removing and Installing for tightening specifications and procedure.

Crankshaft Main Bearing Cap Bolts 30 Nm plus an additional 1/2 turn (180°)
Two 90° turns are permitted
Replace bolts

Connecting Rod Cap Bolts 30 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)
Replace

Vibration Damper Bolt 100 Nm plus an additional 1/2 turn (180°)
Replace

Drive Plate Bolts
First pass Hand tighten new bolts
Final pass 60 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°) (turning further may be performed in several steps)

Oil Pump Mounting Bolts 23 Nm

Coolant Pump Bolts 8 Nm
