Exhaust System Overview
1 Nut
• 40 Nm
• Always replace
• Lubricate studs on the exhaust manifold with hot bolt paste.
2 Front Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter
• Protect from shocks and impact stress.
• With a flex joint.
• The flex joint must not be bent more than 10° - otherwise it may be damaged.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Front Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter ] Service and Repair.
3 Oxygen Sensor after Three Way Catalytic Converter (G130)
• 55 Nm
• Bank 1, sensor 2.
• Only use hot bolt paste to grease the threads; do not let the paste get onto the slits of the oxygen sensor body.
4 Retaining Loop
• Replace if damaged.
5 Nut
• 25 Nm
6 Rear Muffler
• Original equipment as one unit with the center muffler. For repairs, replace each separately.
• Installing the exhaust system free of stress. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.
• Separating the exhaust system, refer to => [ Center and Rear Muffler, Separating ] Service and Repair.
7 Suspended Mount
• Replace if damaged.
8 Bolt
• 25 Nm
9 Rear Clamping Sleeve
• For individual replacement of the center and rear mufflers.
• Installed position, refer to => [ Installed Position of the Rear Clamping
Sleeve ] Clamping Sleeves.
• Tighten the nuts evenly.
10 Center Muffler
• Original equipment as one unit with the rear muffler. For repairs, replace each separately.
• Installing the exhaust system free of stress. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.
• Separating the exhaust system, refer to => [ Center and Rear Muffler, Separating ] Service and Repair.
11 Bolt
• 25 Nm
12 Front Clamping Sleeve
• Before tightening, ensure the exhaust system is free of tension. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.
• Installed position, refer to => [ Installed Position of the Front Clamping
Sleeve ] Clamping Sleeves.
• Tighten the nuts evenly.

• 25 Nm

16 Gasket
• Always replace.
17 Heated Oxygen Sensor (G39)
• 55 Nm
• Bank 1, sensor 1
• Only use hot bolt paste to grease the threads; do not let the paste get onto the slits of the oxygen sensor body.
