Front Door: Adjustments
Door, Adjusting
• The vehicle must be standing on all four wheels in order to adjust the door.
• The door is properly adjusted when there is an overall even gap dimension when closed, it is not too far inward or outward and contours align.
• To adjust or check the gap dimensions
• Always replace the door hinge bolts after loosening them.
• Perform corrosion protection measures on the hinge and bolts after assembly or adjusting work.
For proper door adjustment, door hinge must be loosened at the pillar. Other measures, such as aligning the door upward, are not effective. Excess pressure thereafter will again cause the door to sag.
For this, the door adjusting wrench (3320) with the bit insert (3320/3) must be used.
Striker Pin, Adjusting
• The following describes adjusting the right door. Adjusting the left door is identical.
• When closing, door must lock completely without further applied force and must have no play.
• By adjusting the striker pin, door must not be pushed upward or downward.
• Striker pin is adjusted correctly when door lock cut-out engages with detent centered on striker pin.
The striker pin can be used to adjust:
• If the door setting is not aligned with the side panel.
