Roof Center Section, Installing

• All screws are microencapsulated and must always be replaced.






- Place the noted number of spacer plates - 5 - at left and right on guide rail for rear threaded connection.

- Slide the roof center section - 1 - from above - arrow a - diagonally under the glass panel - 2 -.

- Place the roof center section - 1 - on the rear - arrow b - of the guide rail.

- Slide the roof center section under - arrow c - the rear window frame - 4 -.

- Align roof center section to adjacent components.






- Install front and center screws - 5 - with noted number of washers - 4 - and spacer plates - 3 -.

- Align roof center section to adjacent components.

Gap dimensions, refer to => [ Roof Center Piece Gap Dimensions ]

- Tighten front and center screws - 5 - and check gap and height dimensions.

Screw tightening torque: 9.5 Nm.






- Open the cable tie - 3 - on the guide pipes - 2 -.

- Secure the cable ties - 4 - for the electrical wires on the roof center section - 1 -.

- Remove the three bolts - 6 - for the sunroof motor - 5 -, 4.5 Nm.

- Install both screws - 7 - for the guide pipes - 2 -, 8 Nm.

- Close the glass panel using the sunroof adjustment switch.

• When the luggage compartment trim is installed, make sure the support is not positioned in the opening on the longitudinal member.

• To support roof, both sides of luggage compartment trim should be either removed or installed.

• The bypass screw on the hydraulic pump must be opened after the repair position has been reached on vehicle from May 2007. This prevents damaging the hydraulic system.






- Open roof with convertible top operating switch until it is just before the position shown.

- Place Hinge Supports (VAS 6365) in center position - 2 -.

- Place Hinge Support (VAS 6365) in mounting hole in main hinge - 1 -.

- Switch the ignition off. The roof lowers in stages until the supports are resting on the longitudinal members.






- Install screws - 2 -.

- Close roof completely.

- Check adjustment of roof center section - 1 - to adjacent components.

- Tighten screw.

Screw tightening specification: 9.5 Nm
