Oil Pump: Service and Repair

Oil Pump Overview

• Note the following when installing the oil pump: tighten all the bolts hand tight first. Then tighten the oil pressure line => [ (Item 7) Oil Pressure Line ] to the cylinder block and then to the oil pump => [ (Item 3) Oil Pump Housing ]. Tighten the oil pump bolts to cylinder block bolts=> [ (Item 4) 23 Nm ] last.






1 Spacer Washer

2 Input Shaft

• For oil pump drive

3 Oil Pump Housing

4 23 Nm

5 Oil Pump Cover with Pressure Relief Valve

• Opening pressure 5,3 to 5,7 bar excess pressure

• Clean the screen if it is dirty.

6 Gear Wheels

• Checking backlash, refer to => [ Checking Oil Pump Backlash ].

• Checking axial play, refer to => [ Checking Oil Pump Axial Clearance ].

7 Oil Pressure Line

• Coat on oil pump housing with sealant AMV 188 001 02

• Fasten with new "micro-encapsulated" bolts.

8 8 Nm

• Replace

9 Seal

• Replace if damaged

10 8 Nm

Wear limit: 0.20 mm
