Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to clearance issues:
• Route lines of all types (for example, fuel, hydraulic, Evaporative Emission (EVAP), coolant, refrigerant, brake fluid and vacuum) and electrical wiring so that the original path is followed.
• To prevent damage to the lines, make sure there is sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components.
- A needle bearing must be installed in the crankshaft. Install the needle bearing if necessary. Refer to => [ Crankshaft Needle Bearings ] Service and Repair.
- Lubricate a used needle bearing lightly with high temperature grease (G 052 133 A2).
- Make sure the alignment pins for the engine to transmission are installed in the cylinder block. Install if necessary.
- When installing engine/transmission assembly, check for clearance to subframe as well as to radiator.
- Align engine mount as follows:
• There must be a distance of at least 10 mm - a - present between the engine mount bracket - 2 - and right longitudinal member.
• The casting edge on engine mount bracket - 2 - must be parallel to the engine mount - 1 -.
- Install pendulum support. Refer to => [ Pendulum Support ] Engine Assembly - Fastener Tightening Specifications.
• For the engine/transmission mount tightening specifications, refer to => [ Fastener Tightening Specifications ] Engine Assembly - Fastener Tightening Specifications.
- Install the drive axles.
- Install the front exhaust pipe with catalytic converters. Refer to => [ Front Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converters ] Front Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converters.
• Ensure exhaust system is installed free of tension. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.
- If necessary, adjust the selector lever cable.
- Electrical connections and routings.
- Install the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor.
- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Service and Repair.
- Reset the lock carrier service position.
• Before installing front bumper cover, ensure noise insulation can be installed free of tensions. If necessary, loosen right bracket for noise insulation from lock carrier.
- Install noise insulation.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Draining and Filling.
- Perform a vehicle system test. Refer to "Guided Fault Finding" in the vehicle diagnostic tester.
- End vehicle system test, this will automatically erase DTC entries which occurred during the assembly.
- Generate readiness code in conjunction with a road test.
Observe safety precautions that apply to road tests.
- Perform test drive.
- Then perform vehicle system test again and repair any occurring malfunctions if necessary.
