AFS Light System Electrical Component Locations
1 Headlamp Range/Cornering Lamp Control Module (J745)
Calculates the cornering lamp functions from the following components:
• Steering Angle Sensor (G85)
• Left Rear Level Control System Sensor (G76)
• Left Front Level Control System Sensor (G78)
• ABS Control Module (J104)
• Vehicle electrical system control module (J519)
• Headlamp Range/Cornering Lamp Control Module (J745) , coding, refer to => [ Cornering Lamp and Headlamp Range Control Module (J745) ] Cornering Lamp and Headlamp Range Control Module (J745).
• Headlamp Range/Cornering Lamp Control Module (J745) , performing Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM), refer to => [ Cornering Lamp and Headlamp Range Control Module (J745) ] Cornering Lamp and Headlamp Range Control Module (J745).
• Headlamp Range/Cornering Lamp Control Module (J745) , adapting, refer to => [ Cornering Lamp and Headlamp Range Control Module (J745) ] Cornering Lamp and Headlamp Range Control Module (J745).
• Headlamp Range/Cornering Lamp Control Module (J745) , removing and installing, refer to => [ Cornering Lamp and Headlamp Range Control Module (J745) ] Cornering Lamp and Headlamp Range Control Module (J745).
• If Headlamp Range/Cornering Lamp Control Module (J745) is coded, headlamp basic setting must then be performed.
2 Steering Angle Sensor (G85)
Transfers information to the cornering lamp and headlamp range control module to calculate the cornering lamp function:
• Steering wheel angle
• and steering wheel speed.
• Component location: on steering column between steering wheel and steering column switch.

3 Left Rear Level Control System Sensor (G76)
Transfers information to the cornering lamp and headlamp range control module to calculate the cornering lamp functions:
• The vehicle level.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ HID Level Control System Sensor ] HID Level Control System Sensor.
4 Lamp Failure Indicator Lamp In The Instrument Cluster
• Blinking indicator light means system is malfunctioning.
• A malfunction is stored in the Cornering lamp and headlamp range control module (J745) DTC memory.
• If the low beam fails on one side, the cornering lamp function is switched off.
• If a low beam lamp fails, the corresponding static cornering light no longer switches on.
5 Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519)
Transfers information to the cornering lamp and headlamp range control module to calculate the cornering lamp function:
• the direction of travel in conjunction with the Back-Up Light Switch (F4)
• and the condition of the low beam switch.
• Component location: Relay carrier under left instrument panel.

6 Left Front Level Control System Sensor (G78)
Transfers information to the cornering lamp and headlamp range control module to calculate the cornering lamp functions:
• the vehicle level.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ HID Level Control System Sensor ] HID Level Control System Sensor.
7 Left Headlamp Power Output Stage (J667) or Right Headlamp Power Output Stage (J668)
• Secure to headlamp housing cover from inside.
Transfers information to the following components:
• Cornering lights
• Headlamp range control adjusting motors
• Dynamic cornering lamp adjusting motors.

8 Headlamp Housing
Contains the following components:
• Parking light, refer to => [ HID Headlamps and Cornering Lamp (AFS) Overview ] HID Headlamps and Cornering Lamp (AFS) Overview.
• Cornering light, refer to => [ HID Headlamps and Cornering Lamp (AFS) Overview ] HID Headlamps and Cornering Lamp (AFS) Overview.

9 Left High-intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module (J343) and Right High-intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module (J344)
Controls the high voltage for the HID lamps.

• Secured to headlamp housing.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Headlamp Control Module ] Headlamp Control Module.
10 ABS Control Module (J104)
Transfers information to the cornering lamp and headlamp range control module to calculate the cornering lamp functions:
• Wheel speed
• and gear speed.
• Component location: on hydraulic unit in right of engine compartment.
• Removing and installing.
