Battery Interrupt Igniter (N253) Usage and Safety Information
• Testing, assembly, and repairs may only be performed by trained personnel.
• To avoid accidentally triggering a separation when working on the battery or Battery Interrupt Igniter N253, negative pole terminal must first be disconnected, refer to => [ Disconnecting and Connecting Batteries In Luggage Compartment ] Disconnecting and Connecting Batteries In Luggage Compartment.
• Before touching Battery Interrupt Igniter N253, technician must discharge electrostatically. This is accomplished by touching grounded metal like, for example, water pipes, heating pipes or metal carriers.
• Repairs must not be made on the Battery Interrupt Igniter N253 and corresponding wire connection.
• The parts must be replaced if damaged.
• The Battery Interrupt Igniter N253 should be installed immediately after removing from the transport container.
• If work is interrupted, the Battery Interrupt Igniter N253 should be placed back inside the transport container.
• The Battery Interrupt Igniter N253 must not be left unattended.
• Battery Interrupt Igniters N253 that have fallen on a hard surface or show signs of damage must not be installed.
• Storage and transport are subject to laws for explosive substances.
