Campaign - Instrument Cluster Software Update

Condition

Instructions: Perform this procedure on all applicable vehicle within the Limited new vehicle Warranty

RVU - Instrument Cluster, Update Speedometer Coding (OR)

Tip: This Technical Bulletin is in effect for 12 months from date of publication as listed above. After that date, this Technical Bulletin will expire and no longer be in effect. Procedure must be performed ONLY on applicable vehicles in Dealer inventory.

Requirements:
Vehicle must meet ALL of the following criteria:
1. Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the (OR) code open on the ElsaWeb Campaign / Action Information inquiry screen on the day of repair.
2. Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.
3. Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Bulletin.

Technical Background
European tire calibration software causing speedometer to be greater than actual speed.

Production Solution
Changed tire factor value in Instrument Cluster (tire calibration).

Service
Input VIN into Elsa and check Campaign / Action Information inquiry screen for open Code (OR).

Update Instrument Cluster Coding as follows





- Switch ignition ON.
- From the Start-Up screen, select " Vehicle Self-Diagnosis" and select "On Board Diagnostic (OBD)".
- Select vehicle system " 17-Dash panel insert" , -arrow-.





Check dash panel insert module coding number, -arrow-.

Tip: The vehicle may have a coding of _ _ _ 3 or _ _ _ _ 3.

Changing Instrument Cluster Code





If dash panel insert is coded _ _ _ 3 or _ _ _ _ 3:
- Record the 4 or 5 digits of the module coding number.
- Select diagnosis function " 007 - Coding (Service 1A)" , as shown.





- Input the 4 or 5 recorded digits except change the last digit to a " 7" with the key pad, -arrow-.
- Select " Q " to confirm.





Dash panel will now be coded.
- Make sure coding is successfully completed, -arrow-.
- Select backward arrow on navigation bar to exit diagnosis.
- Disconnect VAS tester from vehicle.
- Switch ignition OFF and remove battery charger/maintainer from vehicle.

To ensure prompt and proper payment, be sure to enter, immediately upon completion of the repair work, the applicable reimbursement code listed below. Claims will only be paid for vehicles that show the (OR) code in the ElsaWeb Campaign Action Information screen on the day of repair.

(OR) Data Entry Procedure Use Claim Type RC
The system automatically enters parts and labor applicable to the above listed code.

For vehicles that, according to your information, cannot be corrected or reached, and one of the codes below best describe the reason, please enter one of the applicable codes into the system:

- OR 20 Customer Refused Repairs
- OR 30 Total Loss
- OR 40 Vehicle Stolen
- OR 50 Vehicle Exported
