Cooling system components (on body), assembly overview





1. Cap
^ Check using cooling system tester V.A.G 1274 and adapter V.A.G 1274/9
^ Pressure release valve must open at a pressure of 1.4 to 1.6 bar.

2. Connector

3. 5 Nm

4. Expansion tank
^ Perform leak test of cooling system with cooling system tester V.A.G 1274 and adapter V.A.G 1274/8

5. Sealing strip
^ Passat only

6. O-ring
^ Replace if damaged

7. Lower coolant hose
^ To connection for coolant regulator

8. 5 Nm

9. 5 Nm

10. Coolant Fan 2 V177

11. Coolant Fan V7
^ With Coolant Fan Control (FC) Control Module J293

12. Connector

13. Air shroud

14. Radiator
^ After replacing replace entire amount of coolant

15. Upper coolant hose
^ To connection sleeve at cylinder head
