Transmission to Engine Tightening Specifications

There is also some information on the left transmission mount.

Threaded connections that cannot be allocated directly to the transmission are found in the corresponding assembly groups.

GTI through 2009, Golf with 2.0L TDI





M12 Bolt - 80 Nm

If insert tool 18 mm (T10179) is used: 65 Nm.

M10 Bolt - 40 mm

Arrows - Points to Alignment Sleeves



- Replace all left transmission mount bolts.

- First install all new bolts by hand.

- Tighten the bracket - A - to transmission bolts - 1 - to 40 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.





- When tightening the transmission mount to bracket bolts - 2 -, bracket can be pried into correct seating with a screwdriver. Tightening specification for bolts - 2 - 60 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.

Starter to transmission.

Subframe bolts must be replaced.

M12 Bolt - 80 Nm

If insert tool 18 mm (T10179) is used: 65 Nm.

M10 Bolt - 40 Nm

Arrow - Point to Alignment Pins

- Replace all left transmission mount bolts.

- Install all new bolts by hand.

- Tighten the transmission mount bracket - A - to transmission bolts - 1 - to 40 Nm + 90° additional turn.





- When tightening the bolts - 2 -, the bracket can be pried into the correct position with a screwdriver. Tightening specification: 60 Nm +90° additional turn.

Starter to transmission bolts.

Subframe bolts must be replaced.

Subframe to body bolts.
