Cooling System Assembly Overview, Body Side





1 Upper Coolant Hose

To the connection sleeve at the cylinder head.

Coolant hose connection diagram, refer to => [ Coolant Hose Connection Diagram ] [1][2]Cooling System.

2 O-ring

Replace if damaged.

3 Radiator

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Radiator ] Service and Repair.

After replacing, replace the coolant.

4 Cap

Check using the cooling system tester (VAG 1274) and adapter (VAG 1274/9). Refer to => [ Pressure Relief Valve in Cap, Checking ] Cooling System, Checking For Leaks.

Pressure release valve must open at a pressure of 1.4 to 1.6 bar.

5 Electrical Connector

For the engine coolant level sensor.

6 Bolt, 3 Nm

7 Expansion Tank

With the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor

Perform a leak test of the cooling system using the cooling system tester (VAG 1274) and the adapter (VAG 1274/8). Refer to => [ Cooling System, Checking for Leaks ] Cooling System, Checking For Leaks.

8 Bolt, 5 Nm

9 Nut, 5 Nm

10 Lower Coolant Hose

Coolant hose connection diagram, refer to => [ Coolant Hose Connection Diagram ] [1][2]Cooling System.

11 Coolant Fan 2 (V177)

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Coolant Fan and Coolant Fan 2 ] Service and Repair.

14 Coolant Fan (V7)

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Coolant Fan and Coolant Fan 2 ] Service and Repair.

With the coolant Fan Control (FC) control module.
