Fastener Tightening Specifications

Jetta from MY 2005 through 2010, Jetta SportWagen (US)/Jetta Wagon (Canada) for MY 2009, Jetta SportWagen (US)/Golf Wagon (Canada) from MY 2010 => [ Transmission to Engine Tightening Specifications ]

• 1 Tighten the bolts diagonally in multiple stages.

Mechatronic Unit Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specifications

- Install the new bolts - 1 through 10 - by hand.

- Tighten the new bolts - 1 through 10 - in sequence to 5 Nm. Then tighten them an addition 90° (1/4) turn in the same order.

Oil Pump Bolt Variety and Tightening Specification

All four bolts - arrows - with flat heads

Tightening specification: 5 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) additional turn

3 bolts with flat heads, top bolt - arrow - is countersunk

Tightening specification:

• Countersunk bolt: 8 Nm (tighten using the special wrench, long reach (T10054))

• Flat head bolts: 8 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn

Transmission to Engine Tightening Specifications

M12 Bolt - 80 Nm

• If the insert tool 18 mm (T10179) is used, then tighten to 65 Nm.

M10 Bolt - 40 Nm

Arrows - Point to the alignment sleeves

Transmission Mount and Bracket Bolt Tightening Specification

- Replace all bolts - 1 and 2 - for the transmission mount/bracket.

- First, install all new bolts by hand.

- Tighten the transmission mount bracket to transmission bolts - 1 - to 40 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.

- Tighten the transmission mount to transmission mount bracket bolts - 2 - to 60 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.

• When tightening the bolts - 2 -, the bracket can be pried into the correct position with a screwdriver.
