Determining Clutch Manufacturer

A clutch manufactured by "Sachs" or by "LuK" may be installed.

Clutch makes can be differentiated with transmission installed as follows:

- Remove sound insulation

Some recesses - arrows - are located between engine - A - and transmission - B - in lower area of engine oil pan.





- Check outer contour of flywheel through these recesses.

- In addition, outer contour of flywheel can also be checked after removal - arrows - of small cover plate - A -.





Round outer contour - arrows - = clutch manufactured by Sachs = - A -





- Service clutch made by Sachs --> [ Clutch Assembly Overview, Sachs ] .

Angled outer contour - arrows 1 - and also, a seam completely around clutch - arrow 2 - = clutch manufactured by LuK = - B -
