^ Secured on cylinder block

Timing chain





1 - Cam shaft adjuster for intake camshaft
^ With chain sprocket
^ Do not disassemble

2 - Chain sprocket for exhaust camshaft
^ Not pressed on camshaft
^ When removing, press off lightly if necessary

3 - Cylinder head

4 - Tensioning rail
^ For chain tensioner for timing chain
^ Secured on cylinder block
^ Oil before installing pin

5 - Double chain sprocket (drive wheel)
^ Securing

6 - Timing chain
^ Note when installing:
- Install in original direction of rotation.
- Chain must lie correctly in tensioning and glide tracks.
- Adjust valve timing.

7 - Strainer
^ Replace

8 - 10 Nm

9 - Chain tensioner
^ Secure with Locking Pins T03006

10 - Gasket
^ Replace

11 - Guide rail
^ Oil before installing pin

12 - 60 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)
^ Replace

13 - 60 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)
^ Replace

Drive chain for timing mechanism





1 - Cylinder block

2 - Guide rail
^ Secured on upper section of oil pan
^ Oil before installing pin

3 - Chain tensioner
^ Secure with Locking Pin T10115

4 - 10 Nm

5 - Chain sprocket of oil pump

6 - Drive chain for timing mechanism
^ Removing:
- Remove engine.
- Remove control housing cover.
- Remove timing chain.
- Remove chain tensioner.
- Mark direction of travel.
^ Note when installing:
- Install in original direction of rotation.
- Chain must lie correctly in tensioning and glide tracks.
- Adjust valve timing.

7 - 20 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)
^ Replace

8 - Guide rail
^ Oil before installing pin

9 - 10 Nm

10 - Axial bearing disc

11 - 60 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)
^ Replace

12 - Double chain sprocket (drive wheel)
^ Oil journal before installing

13 - Journal for double chain sprocket (drive wheel)

14 - Pin for tensioning track, 40 Nm
^ For chain tensioner for timing chain
