Fuel Tank With Attachments And Fuel Filter, Assembly Overview







1 - Sealing plugs
- With fastening device
- Replace if damaged

- Note installation position
7 - 10 Nm

- Ensure seated tightly
- Clipped to side of fuel tank
9 - From EVAP canister

11 - Damming valve
- To remove, remove fuel tank.
- To remove, compress retaining tabs
- Forces flow in direction of filler tube
12 - Check valve for fuel pump
13 - To suction jet pump
- Suction jet pump is located on fuel tank to bleed fuel tank.
14 - Fuel delivery unit
- Fuel gauge sensor, removing and installing.
- Check fuel pump
- Clean strainer if soiled
- When replacing fuel delivery unit, fuel supply system must be bled.
15 - 10 Nm

- Support using engine/transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A when removing
18 - Securing strap
- With rubber profile and spacer sleeve
19 - 20 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90 degrees)
- Replace
20 - 20 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90 degrees)
- Replace
21 - 3 Nm
22 - CW-trim
23 - 3 Nm
24 - Heat shield
- For fuel tank
25 - To Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1 N80
26 - Connection for supply line
27 - To fuel rail
28 - Fuel filter
- Installed location: Arrows point in direction of flow
- Secured to fuel tank
- Removing and installing fuel pressure regulator
- When replacing fuel filter, fuel supply system must be bled.
29 - To connection in fuel tank
30 - Supply line
- Black
- Ensure seated tightly
- To disconnect fuel filter and connection, press in securing ring on connecting piece.
- Note installation position: Straight and long connection - arrow - points toward fuel filter
31 - Seal
- Replace
- Note installation position: Bulge rests on fuel tank

Arrow - A - on flange must point toward rear in parallel to longitudinal axis of vehicle - B -.







Removing and installing fuel pressure regulator
1 - Fuel filter, arrows point in direction of flow
2 - Rubber hose
3 - Retaining clip, check for secure fitting
4 - Ground (GND) cable; installed on bracket for fuel filter
5 - Supply; from fuel pump
6 - Return; to fuel pump
7 - Fuel pressure regulator; checking
8 - Gasket; replace
9 - O-ring; replace
10 - Supply; to connection in fuel tank
