HID Headlamps, System Overview

CAUTION:
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:
- Obtain the Anti-Theft radio security code.
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- Disconnect negative (-) battery terminal.
- When Disconnecting and Connecting battery terminals, observe all applicable Notes and torque specifications, as well as instructions on performing OBD program and electrical system function checks as specified.






1 - Left / Right High-intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module J343 / J344
- Integrated with headlamp unit.
- Modules cannot be replaced separately; replace complete headlamp housing.
2 - Left Front Level Control System Sensor G78
- Adjusting.
3 - Left Rear Level Control System Sensor G76
- Checking adjustment
4 - Left / Right Headlamp Range Control Module J567 / J568
- J567 (left) is "master" control module.
- Location: left front wheel housing
- J568 (right) is "slave" control module
- Location: right front/inner long member.
5 - Headlamp housing
6 - Parking light bulb
- Halogen bulb 12 V, 6 W
7 - Sealing cap
8 - High beam headlamp bulb M30 / M32
- H7 12 V, 55 W
9 - High Intensity Gas Discharge (HID) lamp
- Used for low beam
- Type DS2, 35 W
- Operating voltage 80 V to 117 V
10 - Left / Right Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor V48 / V49
