Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Torque wrench V.A.G 1332
^ Spring compressor V.A.G 1752/1
^ Spring holder V.A.G 1752/5
^ Shock absorber set T10001
^ Ratchet (commercially available)

Coil spring removal





- Tension coil spring with spring compressor V.A.G 1752/1 until upper axial groove ball bearing is free.
1. Spring compressor V.A.G 1752/1
2. Torque wrench V.A.G 1332
3. Socket T10001/8
4. Ratchet T10001/11
5. Socket T10001/5
6. Spring holder V.A.G 1752/4

CAUTION! First pre-load the spring until the upper spring plate is no longer under load.





- Make sure coil spring is properly seated in spring holder V.A.G 1752/4 - arrow -.
- Remove hex nut from piston rod.
- Remove individual components of suspension strut and coil spring using spring compressor V.A.G 1752/1.

Installing coil spring
- Install coil spring onto lower spring support using spring compressor V.A.G 1752/1.





The end of coil spring must lie against stop - arrow -.
- Tighten new hex nut on piston rod.
- Release tension on spring compressor V.A.G 1752/1 and remove from coil spring.
- Install strut.
