Sealing flange and drive plate, assembly overview

Note:
^ Engine is to be secured to Engine and Transmission Holder VAS 6095 for performing assembly work.





1. 100 Nm plus an additional 1/2 turn (180°)
^ Replace
^ Turning further may be performed in several stages
^ Use retainer T10069 to loosen and tighten
2. Vibration damper
^ To remove and install, secure using counter-holder tool T10069
3. 10 Nm
4. Sealing flange
^ Coat sealing surfaces with sealant D 176 501
5. Cylinder block
6. Sealing flange
^ Apply sealant D 176 501 on sealing surfaces
7. Seal
^ Remove using pulling hook T20143/2
^ PTFE version of oil seal
^ Do not oil or grease sealing lip of oil seal.
^ Before installing, remove oil remains from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth
8. Shim
9. 60 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)
^ Replace
^ To loosen and tighten, use retainer T10044 (with 5 mm spacers) or counter-holder tool T10069.
10. Washer
11. Drive plate
12. 23 Nm





Applying sealant on sealing flange
- Apply Sealant D 176 501 to sealing flange as shown.
