Affected Vehicles

Condition

MIL and EPC light ON, DTC P0016 Stored in ECM Fault Memory

Customer may report:

^ EPC light ON and slightly reduced engine torque because vehicle is in E-Gas Safety Mode.

Only in combination with:





^ MIL ON and the DTC shown stored in ECM fault memory.

Customer may also report:

^ Excessive clacking or rattling noise from engine area - more audible at idle.

Technical Background

Condition may be caused by the correlation between crankshaft and camshafts out of tolerance.

Production Solution

No production change required.
