Condition

Door Mirror Moves Inaccurately to Stop Position

After adjusting door mirror using the memory function, mirror does not return to its original position.

Note:
The condition as described is based only on the memory function. Mirror position can be restored by manually operating the mirror switch.

Technical Background

Inaccurate mirror positioning, because of mechanical and/or electronic control problems.

Production Solution

New Door Control Module/Software installed as of:

^ Passat 3C_7E121329, 3C_7P079052

Service

New door control module software to correct mirror not returning to its original position.

Remove front driver door trim panel, see Repair Manual Group 70 Body Interior Trim in ElsaWeb.

Replace front driver door control module -J386-, see Repair Manual Group 97 Wiring in ElsaWeb.

Tip:
Always perform Front Passenger Door Control Module coding.
