Leaks In Refrigerant Circuit, Finding With Pressure (e.g. Nitrogen)
Leaks In Refrigerant Circuit, Finding With Pressure (e.g. Nitrogen)
Pressure gauge set with pressure reducer for nitrogen (max. reducing pressure: 15 bar)
1. Manometer battery with pressure reducer
2. T-piece
3. Pressure hoses (inner diameter 5 mm, length 2 m) with hose fittings
4. Nitrogen cylinder
NOTE: Hose fittings for connecting on Adapter Set V.A.G 1785 with threads 5/8 inches 18 UNF for service connection quick-release coupling adapter to refrigerant circuit.
CAUTION:
- Nitrogen can leak uncontrolled from the cylinder.
- Make exclusive use of pressure reducers for nitrogen cylinders (maximum work pressure 15 bar).
- Use appropriate extraction units to draw off gas mixture escaping from components.
- Connect a nitrogen cylinder with manometer battery and pressure reducer (setting max. 15 bar) with suitable pressure hoses to the refrigerant circuit,.e.g. high pressure and lower pressure sides.
- Coat the refrigerant circuit connections with a soap solution. Bubbles form at the connections where there are leaks. Replace O-ring or component.
