Engine Lubrication: Locations



Oil pan, oil pump and oil filter bracket, assembly overview





1. Oil non-return valve, 5 Nm
^ Note installation position
^ Clean if badly soiled
2. Locking bolt, 100 Nm
^ Coat sealing point with Sealant D 176 501 before assembly
3. O-ring
^ Replace
^ Oil before assembling
4. 8 Nm
^ Replace
5. Oil pump
To remove oil pump, engine must be removed
6. Chain sprockets
^ For roller chain
7. 60 Nm plus an additional 1/4 turn (90°)
^ Replace
^ Only use bolts with strength category 10.9
8. Oil spray jet
^ For crankshaft bearing 2 to 7
^ For piston cooling
^ Opening pressure 2.0 bar pressure
9. Seal
^ Replace if damaged
^ Oil before assembling
10. Oil pipe
11. Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
^ With permanent sealing ring
^ Replace
12. Oil pan
^ Clean sealing surface before installing
^ Insert with silicone Sealant D 176 501
13. 10 Nm
14. Oil Level Thermal Sensor G266
15. 12 Nm
16. Baffle plate
17. Oil intake connection
^ Clean strainer if soiled
18. Oil filter housing
19. 23 Nm
20. Seal
^ Replace
^ Oil before assembling
21. Guide tube
^ For oil dipstick
^ Secured by a bolt to intake manifold

^ Fastened to intake manifold
23. Oil dipstick
^ Oil level must not be above the max. mark!
24. Cylinder block





Oil spray jet, removing and installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Drift dia. 4 mm
^ Drift dia. 6 mm

Note:
^ Oil injector jets are installed in crankshaft bearings 2 to 7. Removing

- Press out oil injector jet using a drift dia. 4 mm in direction of engine bearing.

Installing
- To install, press in oil injector jet by hand using a drift dia. 6 mm - arrow -.





Removing and installing oil check valve
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Bolt M8 x 1,5

Removing
- Install a standard M8 � 1.5 bolt approximately 4 rotations into valve - arrow - and pull it out of bore.

Installing
- Coat O-ring with oil before installing. Press valve by hand into oil channel.
