Fuel Tank, Assembly Overview







1 - Bolt
2 - Ground connection
- Ensure seated tightly
3 - Vacuum line
- To Leak detection pump (LDP) V144
4 - 10 Nm
5 - Rivet
6 - Protective plate
- Riveted to lower clamp at factory
- When replacing fuel tank, set protective plate on filler tube and rivet clamp (holes on protective plate must coincide with holes on filler tube).
7 - Wiring router
- For ABS line
- Clipped in on protective plate
8 - 25 Nm
- Replace
9 - Fuel tank
10 - Lock washer
11 - Bracket for exhaust system
12 - Securing strap
- Note installation position
13 - Heat shield
14 - Supply line
- To fuel rail
- Ensure seated tightly
15 - Fuel filter
- Installed location: Arrow points in direction of flow
- Fuel filter with attachments.
16 - Vacuum line
- From Leak Detection Pump (LDP) V144 to intake manifold
- Clipped in at fuel tank
- Ensure seated tightly
17 - Vent line
- From EVAP canister to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve N80
- Clipped in at fuel tank
- Ensure seated tightly
18 - Seal
- Replace
- To install, place into opening of fuel tank dry
- Only coat inner part with fuel when installing fuel delivery unit.
19 - Fuel delivery unit
- Check fuel pump.
- Note installation position in fuel tank
- With Fuel Level Sensor G
- Fuel Level Sensor G , removing and installing.
- Clean strainer if dirty
20 - Locking ring, 110 Nm
- Ensure seated tightly
- Use Wrench 3087 to remove and install
21 - Return line
- Blue
- Clipped to side of fuel tank
- Ensure seated tightly
22 - Cap
- BGP: Screw plug
- BGQ: Bayonet connection
- Replace gaskets if damaged
23 - Tank flap unit
- With rubber gasket
24 - To EVAP canister
25 - Supply line
- Black
- Clipped to side of fuel tank
- Ensure seated tightly







Installed position of fuel delivery unit
Tab - 2 - on fuel delivery unit must lie between tabs -1 - and - 3 -.

NOTE:
- Arrow - points in direction of travel.
- Fuel deliver unit can only be installed in this position.
