Fastener Tightening Specifications

Cylinder Head Cover Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





- Tighten the cylinder head cover bolts- 1 through 17 - in the sequence shown to 10 Nm.

Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





- Tighten the cylinder head bolts - 1 through 20 - in the sequence shown, starting from inside and working toward outside, as follows:

- Pre-tighten all the bolts to 15 Nm.

- Then tighten all the bolts to 30 Nm.

- Tighten all bolts (1/2 turn) (180°) further using a ratchet.

Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification

A - Intake Camshaft

- Tighten bearing caps 5 and 9 alternating in diagonal sequence and tighten to 5 Nm + 1/8 additional turn (45°).

- Install bearing caps 1 and 13 and tighten to 5 Nm and 1/ 8 turn (45°).

- Install bearing caps 7 and 13 and tighten to 5 Nm and 1/ 8 turn (45°).

- Install bearing caps 3 and 11 and tighten to 5 Nm and 1/ 8 turn (45°).





B - Exhaust Camshaft

- Tighten bearing caps 6 and 10 alternating in diagonal sequence and tighten to 5 Nm + 1/8 additional turn (45°).

- Install bearing caps 2 and 14 and tighten to 5 Nm and 1/ 8 turn (45°).

- Install bearing caps 8 and 13 and tighten to 5 Nm and 1/ 8 turn (45°).

- Install bearing caps 4 and 12 and tighten to 5 Nm and 1/ 8 turn (45°).
