Oxygen Sensor: Locations



Catalytic Converters, Oxygen Sensors And Attachments, Assembly Overview

Oxygen sensors cylinder bank 1 location
Oxygen sensors cylinder bank 2 location







1 - Main catalytic converter
- For cylinder bank 1, right side of vehicle
- Protect from shocks and impact stress
- Removing and installing.
- Install exhaust system free of stress.
2 - Gasket
- Replace
3 - 23 Nm
- Replace
4 - Primary catalytic converter
- For cylinder bank 1, right side of vehicle
- With flex joint
- Decoupling element must not be bent more than 10 degrees otherwise it may be damaged
- Protect from shocks and impact stress
- Removing and installing.
- Install exhaust system free of stress.
- Individual suspension components, right side
5 - Gasket
- Replace
6 - Exhaust manifold
- For cylinder bank 1 (right)
- Removing and installing.
7 - 23 Nm
- Replace
8 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) G39 (before catalytic converter)
- For cylinder bank 1 (right)
- Component location
- Threads of new oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste
- When reusing oxygen sensor, coat threads with hot bolt paste;
- Assembly paste or hot bolt paste must not get onto slots of sensor body.
- Tighten to 55 Nm
9 - Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) G130
- For cylinder bank 1 (right)
- Component location
- Threads of new oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste
- When reusing oxygen sensor, coat threads with hot bolt paste;
- Assembly paste or hot bolt paste must not get onto slots of sensor body.
- Tighten to 55 Nm
10 - 23 Nm
- Replace
11 - Exhaust manifold
- Cylinder bank 2 (left)
- Removing and installing.
12 - Gasket
- Replace
13 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 G108 (in front of catalytic converter)
- For cylinder bank 2 (left)
- Component location
- Threads of new oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste
- When reusing oxygen sensor, coat threads with hot bolt paste;
- Assembly paste or hot bolt paste must not get onto slots of sensor body.
- Tighten to 55 Nm
14 - Primary catalytic converter
- For cylinder bank 2, left side of vehicle
- With flex joint
- Decoupling element must not be bent more than 10 degrees otherwise it may be damaged
- Protect from shocks and impact stress
- Removing and installing.
- Install exhaust system free of stress.
- Individual suspension components, left side
15 - Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 2 Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) G131
- For cylinder bank 2 (left)
- Component location
- Threads of new oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste
- When reusing oxygen sensor, coat threads with hot bolt paste;
- Assembly paste or hot bolt paste must not get onto slots of sensor body.
- Tighten to 55 Nm
16 - 23 Nm
- Replace
17 - Gasket
- Replace
18 - Main catalytic converter
- For cylinder bank 2, left side of vehicle
- Protect from shocks and impact stress
- Removing and installing.
- Install exhaust system free of stress.
19 - Suspended mount
- Replace if damaged
20 - 23 Nm
21 - Suspended mount
- Replace if damaged
22 - 23 Nm
23 - Suspended mount
- Replace if damaged
24 - 23 Nm
25 - Suspended mount
- Replace if damaged
26 - 23 Nm

1. Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) G130
2. Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) G39







Oxygen sensors cylinder bank 2 location
1. Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 G108
2. Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 2 Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) G131







Installed position of front double clamps
- Install clamping sleeves so that bolts are on bottom.
- Ends of bolts point toward outside of vehicle.
