Cornering Light Bulb







Cornering Light Bulb

Left Cornering Lamp (L148) and Right Cornering Lamp (L149) can be checked using Headlamp Range/Cornering Lamp Control Module (J745) Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM). Refer to => [ Output Diagnostic Test Mode ] Output Diagnostic Test Mode.

When performing fault-finding, use Diagnostic Operation System (VAS 5051B) or Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052A) in the operating mode "Guided Fault Finding".

Replacing a left cornering lamp bulb (L148) and a right cornering lamp bulb (L149) is identical.

Removal

In order to be able to replace the bulb, it is sometimes necessary to remove neighboring components at the corresponding headlamp.

- Refer to the following table as to which components are to be removed depending on engine version, in order to replace the bulb.






- Twist off housing cover - 3 -.






The cornering light - 2 - is secured to reflector - 1 - with a bayonet connection.

Note cornering light installation location.






- Pull connector release - 2 - up.

- Remove connector.

- Rotate bulb approximately 90 degrees counter-clockwise and remove from reflector.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:






The cornering light bulb obtains its installation position by the different recesses, wide recess - A - and narrow recess - B -.

- Guide cornering lamp bulb into the headlamp housing so that the attachments on the lamp socket fit into recesses - A - and - B - on the reflector.

- Rotate the bulb approximately 90 degrees clockwise as far as the stop.






- Connect connector - 2 -.

When installing the housing cover, ensure the gasket is properly seated. It is destroyed by ingress of water into headlamp.

- Check headlamp for function.
