Ignition Switch Key Lock Solenoid (N376)
The ignition switch key lock solenoid must be mounted next to the ignition switch.
• To remove ignition key in vehicles with automatic transmission, always shift selector lever into position "P" and then switch off ignition. Otherwise, ignition switch key lock solenoid prevents the key from being removed!
Removal
- Disconnect the battery. Refer to => [ Disconnecting and Connecting Battery In Engine Compartment ] Disconnecting and Connecting Battery In Engine Compartment or => [ Disconnecting and Connecting Batteries In Luggage Compartment ] Disconnecting and Connecting Batteries In Luggage Compartment.
- Remove driver's side airbag unit.
- Remove steering wheel.
- Remove the steering column trim.
- Remove Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527). Refer to => [ Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527) ] Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527).
- Release locking device - 2 - using a suitable screwdriver.
- Pull ignition switch key lock solenoid - 1 - in the - direction of the arrow - out of its mount.
- During this, harness connector is simultaneously disconnected.
Installation
- Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
• After connecting battery, perform output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) to activate the Ignition Switch Key Lock Solenoid. Refer to => [ Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) ] Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM).
